Second Tour of Duty is an initiative created to address un-employment within our Veteran community and transitioning military members, with an emphasis with the Reserve and Guard members. It will harness the skills of individuals who have served our community and country. Thus, translating their military expertise into the civilian world. We are currently in the middle of a new partner application with the DoD Skill Bridge program for active duty. Each year approximately 200,000 members of the U.S. Armed Forces, stationed in over 140 military installations in the U.S. and overseas, will leave active duty and re-enter the civilian work force or pursue higher education. Additionally, 230,000 members who are part of the Reserve, will also exit the military. Currently there is not a program similar to Skill Bridge that accommodates the Reserve Military Member.
This has been made possible by grants, partnerships and collaborations with industry leaders.
